Marathon Village is a neighborhood born out of the buildings that once housed Marathon Motor Works (1910-1914). It was the first factory to totally manufacture automobiles in the southern United States and the only one to do so until General Motors made the Saturn in 1990. Beginning with the purchase of his first building here in 1986, owner has supported a thriving creative community and made a center for commercial, performing, and visual arts. He designed a plan to preserve the historical and architectural significance of each space while creating a space for: Event spaces, Performing Arts & Entertainment, Food & Drinks, Work Studios, Retail Shops, and Commercial Artists.
As soon as you step through the doors of our beautiful building, you’re instantly transported back in time to the formative days of American automotive culture in the early 20th century. This reclaimed warehouse features exposed wood beams, brick and other rustic textures that provide a distinctive backdrop for a celebration of your love. Whether you’re a history buff or just a fan of industrial architecture, our reception venue is the perfect place for you and your guests to dance the night away.
