 8/19/2008 | | "Perfect wedding/any event venue"", An Eventective User from Summerville, South Carolina | | My review of this venue comes as a surprise to myself. I am a Wedding Planner and attended a function "Bridal Boot Camp" at The Summer House. I have never even heard of it, and being right in its backyard practically it is perfect for people that do not want to pay the outrageous prices that Downtown Charleston and surrounding areas charge. The food was delicious, the people were extremely warm and friendly, and the entire house itself gave you a sense of warmth. An old Colonial Home from the 1800's restored that was beautifully done. The pricing I found to be in the moderate range and affordable to couples that are looking for a venue possibly with a smaller amount of guests. There is an outdoor area for the ceremony if you would like, or a cocktail reception, and even a horse drawn carriage can bring the bride to the location which adds to the ambiance. I definitely would recommend this venue over a lot of venues in Charleston that aren't even near as nice and almost double the price in some cases. |
