Cill Dara, with its cathedral ceiling and spectacular views you’ll only have to step inside to understand why we felt that the Gaelic term for ‘church of the oaks’ was a fitting name for our large event venue. (Its Gaelic name was also chosen as a nod to our ‘Poppy’, who emigrated from Ireland in 1928.) Designed with weddings in mind, the Cill Dara, is what dreams are made of. Our simple but elegant design, combined with panoramic natural beauty, allows you to focus on the details because we’ve got the basics covered. In our Speakeasy, we hoped to capture a bit of the mystery and allure created by prohibition. (And why not, since there was a moonshine operation in our roots!) Whether rented alone, or in connection with the Cill Dara, the Speakeasy offers many options for a wide variety of events. Easily accessible to our Root Cellar and the Cill Dara, our small event venue, the Speakeasy, will not stay secret for long. Paying homage to our familial ‘roots’, with all of their resourcefulness, sacrifice and resolve, was the inspiration behind our public tasting room, the Root Cellar.
