The Atwater Kent Museum, located just around the corner from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, is the gateway to Philadelphia history. Founded over 60 years ago as the city's history museum, the Atwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia (AKMP) provides many ways to learn about the city. School and youth groups use hands-on experiences with historical objects. Families discover the city together. Adults find expertise about their collecting interests and historical issues. National and international visitors gain insight into 21st-century urban life and context for important moments in American history. The Museum's historic 1826 building and garden provide a unique Philadelphia setting for business meetings, receptions and social occasions. As one of the few green spaces in Center City, the Marian Mitchell Garden is available for private parties along with the exhibition galleries. Our preferred caterers offer distinctive menus customized for every event. When renting the Museum, clients may schedule a tour of the exhibitions or a presentation related to a special collection interest.

Atwater Kent Museum Of Philadelphia, Philadelphia — Completed in 1826 and designed by the reknowned 19th century architect John Haviland, the building's facade is made of Pennsylvania ble marble and is an example of the period's popular Greek-revival style.
