About Garage Band Blues

"Wow! You look like kids, but perform like seasoned pros." That's how Lisa Zielinski from 1430 KYKN in Keizer described us, and it fits perfect. Our lead singer, who gets carded when he buys lottery scratch-its, sings like the blues legends of the past. Our guitar players combine their experience in Blues, Jazz, Funk, Punk and Country music to create a crisp yet very unique sound. Our rhythm section includes a veteran Bass player and one of the best Rock-N-Roll drummers in the Salem area. Our musicians have played for The Ty Curtis Band (Contemporary Blues), The Ted Vaughn Blues Band (Texas Blues), Drift (Punk Rock), Sandvig (Classic and Southern Rock), along with other bands that span genres of Reggae and Jazz. With all of us coming from small towns, we grew up listening to Country music and incorporate those sounds into the music we play. Garage Band Blues began forming in February of 2009. Putting the pieces together slowly until the current band's roster became final in the early part of 2010. We quickly began booking gigs in bars throughout Salem, Stayton and Dallas. Becoming the "House Band" at the Bottle Factory in Stayton, the "Jam Host" at Holland's in Salem and the "House Band" at the Roundup Pub in Dallas. Playing in other area bars and private parties produced enough publicity to book shows as the main performer at the SummerFest in Stayton and the Saturday night headliner at the Sublimity Harvest Festival. Being a younger group of guys, we know that it is important to bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm to our performances, but we also realize that playing the Blues requires focus and efficiency. We put the total package together in a way that is unique and unmatchable. Having fun and making sure our fans are having fun is and always will be our only priority. That is why we believe we are going to be the new up-and-coming band in the Willamette Valley area. We want to take the next step in making that happen…
