Planning a wedding is a lot of work and a lot of budgeting. A good deal of that work and budget goes into the food! Choosing a caterer and a menu is one of the biggest decisions I had to make while planning my wedding. Luckily, both my fiance and I had acquaintances in the food world and many of them strongly recommended a catering service that ran the food venue for the local university. We had our doubts at first, envisioning "cafeteria food" and "lunch lady" type service! We were in for a surprise though! Upon visiting the Chartwells Dining Services location on the university campus, we found the cooks wearing chef coats and catering rest aunt style buffet meals to the students! We were even more surprised and pleased by the catering menu the company had to offer. Because of the size of their operation, they were able to offer to cater anything from just snacks (cookies and drinks) to full scale plated black tie dinners! Also, because they partly worked for the university, they could extend the savings they made on overhead to their customers in the community. My fiance and I chose a "tea time" style of catering where-in Chartwells provided us with vegetable platters, fruit platters, meat and cheese trays, drinks and even a punch fountain! Not only was the food great, but the employees who came along to help serve and refill were very professional and polite. They even cut the wedding cake and served it for us at no extra charge. They even left the church kitchen cleaner than they had found it! I would recommend this catering service for any event you are having from a little business meeting to a full out celebrity wedding!
