We were married at The Darby House in March 2011. I couldn't more enthusiastically recommend this venue! Although a bit pricey, the service is impeccable. The Darby House solely uses Cameron Mitchell (name of the finest restaurants in Columbus!) to plan their events. Kate was a joy to work with -- very sweet through all the drama that is wedding planning. The venue itself is a dream. The guests drive down a long picket-fenced road past rolling hills to the secluded gem amidst large ancient looking trees. A horse and carriage await to carry them from the parking area to the actual venue. A mix of warm wood and classy elegance, the venue is absolutely perfect for a fairy tale wedding. As The Darby House is on the Darby Farm grounds, you have many options to incorporate horses into your ceremony. I surprised my guests by entering the ceremony by horse and carriage! My evening wedding was absolutely what I dreamt of, candlelit dinner by the gorgeous lake as the sun set with family and friends. The day couldn't be any more perfect and would not have been possible without The Darby House. The pictures were absolutely gorgeous!

The Darby house was a truly amazing venue for my wedding. Their staff was helpful throughout the entire process from going to visit all the way through following up with us on our experience and seeking any feedback. The venue is run by Cameron Mitchell Catering and the food was absolutely amazing. Everybody I've talked to about the food was shocked at the flavor because most catered foods are relatively bland. The staff gave us the opportunity of changing the ceremony from inside to outside within 15 minutes of the actual ceremony, which is amazing because we had 150 guests. One thing that helped to set the Darby House apart was that they had a sampling night where we and other couples came in, got to experience the venue all lit up and decorated and have dinner sampling different things off of their food and wine menus. They also had their preferred vendors there. But, this entire event was free, there was no entrance fee. The grounds of the Darby House are beautiful. It's so green and lush. There are trees all around and a stream that runs by the outside section. We were given the option of entering on a boat. The inside has three main rooms. Each room has different memorabilia for the sports fanatics. There are 2 World Series trophies and multiple horse racing trophies. The dinner room is a very warm and intimate room that creates an environment where everyone feels like they are able to interact with each other and not feel left out. The dinner service staff did an amazing job getting everyone their food quickly while it was still warm and distributing food and beverages as needed. It was nice to have the event planner there behind the scenes running everything and making sure the whole evening went flawlessly.
