Ahhh....Smooth and original, Peter Jordan stirs the soul with his silky, lush instrumental interpretations of R&B hits, classic jazz works, and urban contemporary beats.
As the lead instrumental voice for The Sound Evolution Band, Peter always assures that the audience receives a crowd-pleasing entertainment experience. He created the group's unique sound by combining high-caliber musicianship, wide-ranging music genre eclecticism, and today's multicultural approach to music.
Sit back and listen, or get up and groove. It's all about letting the music move you.
Mr. Jordan has travelled the globe appearing in shows with the Manhattans, The Dells, Evelyn ’Champagne’ King, Sister Sledge, Major Harris, Michael McDonald, The Whispers, Rose Royce, The Delfonics, The Stylistics, The Emotions, and many others. In 2000, he also performed on “Motown Live: Superstars of Seventies Live”, the PBS Special hosted by Patti Labelle and the late Isaac Hayes.
Not content to just perform music created by others before he was born - a true artist, performer and technician, Peter is also a gifted composer. His original music has been featured on the daytime soap opera “Days Of Our Lives”, the Emmy-award winning talk/comedy “Saturday Night Live”, and the blockbuster feature film “Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker”. As a smooth jazz artist, he has opened up for contemporary jazz favorites Chris Botti in Alexandria, VA and later for Brian Culbertson at a smooth jazz festival sponsored by 105.9 FM the voice of jazz in D.C. Although he continues to perform with his original band, Common Ground, on occasion, most of his current performances feature his new band Sound Evolution.
