The Big Chill has been creating great meals and memories for more than a decade. Originally, The Big Chill was Charlotte's largest Dinner and Classic Jazz and R&B Night club hosting such celebrity acts as The Tommy Dorsey Band to John Legend. With such high demands to continually rent out this beautiful venue for special events, owner Darcy Donevan found it difficult to continually book jazz acts due to the conflicts with with hosted events. Giving in to the public's demand, 3 years ago, The Big Chill became Charlotte's Premier Special Events Venue available for Weddings, Corporate Events, Rehearsal Dinners and Special Events. Choosing a location for your event can be fustrating and time consuming. The Big Chill can take the stress out of selecting the perfect sized venue for your special occasion. Our venue will accommodate up to 615 guests for a stand up reception and over 300 for a sit-down dinner in the main room. For smaller more intimate dinners, we have our Dilworth Room which can comfortably seat 75 for a sit down meal and our Parlor which is just the perfect size for a Bridesmaid Luncheon. Please be our guest and "chill" for your event while we take care of all the details, from catering to the clean up. Our team of highly qualified professionals will make any event a pleasure. From corporate meetings, to weddings and cocktail parties, or anything in between, The Big Chill is your best choice. Our attention to detail, experience, and reliability ensure that your event will be a smashing success. The Big Chill has over 13,000 sq. feet of event space. The venue offers two different bar/reception areas to accommodate your guests. Our Fireside Bar is adjacent to the main room. The Dilworth room is our secondary bar area which can also be used for private dining and is the perfect size for a Rehearsal Dinner. Our seating capacity for a seated dinner is 275-300 and for a stand-up reception we can host up to 600. Additionally we also have the Parlor which is a small private room off of the Fireside Bar which is also the perfect size for a Bridesmaid Luncheon. We provide tables, chairs and white lap length linens. However, if you like you may bring in your own "speciality" linens and centerpieces. We have a 1000 sq. foot dance floor and an incredible stage
