Supported Layouts and Capacities
Our wedding was awesome. The Franklin Plaza was a bank in the 1930's. They renovated the building years ago for a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception. The building has the old elevators, 30 foot ceilings and all wood floors. The original volt is also used as a coat room. Waiters and owners of the facility treated us awesome. My wife and I were able to enjoy every moment of our special day. The food here is amazing we had the option of steak, chicken or fish. All three were amazing. Appetizers were amazing as well. We had cheese crackers, dip, shrimp, clams, wings, chicken fingers, pasta. My god it was good. As we enjoyed our day we had our own personal waiter who followed us everywhere. If our drink was empty he would fill it. I remember putting my drink down and went out to dance. I got back to our table and there was another drink. They also took over all our cards and presents from our wedding to our hotel. I remember the band playing all night long. They seemed to even enjoy themselves. We also were able to have an hour and a half open bar instead of the traditional hour. That made a difference for us because that's the time you take your pictures. We did all our pictures with friends and family and had time to enjoy a drink with our friends and family at the bar. We finished our pictures in about one hour. So figure 30 minutes of time with friends and family. At the end of the night everyone went out together because of the amount of fun they had at our wedding. Food drinks and service were top notch along with the service. I would recommend this venue to everyone I meet that plans to get married
I would absolutely recommend the Franklin Plaza to anyone looking to make their special occasion PERFECT. When my wife and I were looking for wedding venues in the Capital District, we were referred to The Franklin Plaza by a relative who had recently been to someone else's wedding there. He boasted about the food and how pretty the reception room was, so we decided to check it out (knowing that we had basically decided on another venue already). Since we live in close, we made a quick call to see if there was a way we would be able to come see the space that weekend. We spoke with Joe, who came in for a special appointment on a Sunday morning with us. We were floored the second we walked into the space. An old federal savings bank, this place has the rich history and grandeur you would imagine, but with a charm and beauty that look my breath away. Joe was incredible - walking us through every detail of the way the ceremony would be set up, the HOUR-AND-A-HALF cocktail hour upstairs with 15 passed hors d'oeuvres, 4 stationary tables, and open bar, and then the reception downstairs with a four-course dinner, including dessert course and more open bar. And, their hotel is right across the street - none of our guests would have to drive anywhere. We were sold. Especially when we found out that they were actually cheaper than some of the other places we had been looking at previously. Our wedding day was PERFECTION. I work as an event planner, so I am used to managing every detail of event days myself. The folks at the Franklin Plaza took care of absolutely everything. There was never a question in my mind that our wedding would be anything less than exquisite. The head waiters and site managers were incredible, and we had everything we needed taken care of for us all night. I didn't have to lift a finger. The food was incredible. You could really tell that Michael's catering (through the Franklin Plaza) was truly a chef and caterer, not just your run-of-the-mill event venue cranking out the typical steak, chicken, fish. They did every single meal to order, served every one of my 180 guests in record time, and kept everyone happy - and FULL - all night long. There is honestly not a bad thing I could possibly say about this venue. I would suggest that anyone looking for a terrific venue for their wedding, bar Mitzi, anniversary party, ANYTHING visit the Franklin Plaza. If you ever get an invitation for an event at the Franklin Plaza, go! Even if you don't even like the person inviting you. Go anyway to check out this incredible place and have an amazing experience like I had. It's that good.
