 4/3/2012 | | "My Wedding!", An Eventective User from Staten Island, NY | The Staaten was the perfect venue to have our wedding. Both my wife and I live on Staten Island so we wanted to have our wedding close to home. We visited several venues on the island and The Staaten was the best option by far. We have both been to events at the Staaten before and always enjoyed our time there.
Venue- The venue was perfect. The cocktail hour was done upstairs and the actual reception was in the main dining rooms. We both have large families so we needed to make sure that we had plenty of space. We invited well over 200 guests to attend. Also we had a live band and this posed no issue with the venue. The band was set up perfectly and did not intrude at all on the dance floor/dinner tables.
Food- The food throughout the entire evening was fantastic. The evening started with the deluxe cocktail hour which featured several food stations including seafood( fried calamari, shrimp), pasta (stuffed shells, penne vodka) and carving (ham, steak). We heard a ton of compliments about the cocktail hour from our guests. For dinner we had pasta, salad and entrees. For entrees we had filet mignon, filet of sole and chicken francaise. Everything was delicious and our guests were more than satisfied. Also there are options that will allow you to cater the menu according to your preferences.
Wait Staff- Everyone was very professional and accommodating. All of our needs were met from the time we arrived and until left the Staaten. The service was exceptional!
In the end, we highly recommend the Staaten for a wedding ceremony. The prices were very favorable for the quality we were receiving. We have no regrets and had an amazing night! |
