I recently had the pleasure to host an event promoting new products to investors in the technology industry. Invited were 700 of my companies most important clients, with a plus 1rsvp. I had to make sure I had enough space to hold at least 2000 guests and ability to provide gourmet delicacies to my attendees. Many of these investors were coming from a different state other then New York, so I had to make sure the venue was breath taking and refreshing. I choose Pier Sixty located at Chelsea Piers. I had attended a fashion show 2months prior and feel in love with the atmosphere. Pier Sixty is the largest water venue in New York City over looking the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty. The wait staff at the venue were excellent. They came around with various h'ors d'oeuvres, desserts, and champagne all personally catered. While is was a professional meeting of investors it was also a convention of new products and ideas. The cool breeze from the water was perfect to top off the perfect venue.

Truly upscale place to hold a conference or event - An Eventective User from Brooklyn, New York

I have attended two different events at Pier Sixty. The first was a wedding reception, and it was the most gorgeous reception I've ever been to. From what I understand, the decorations were provided by the venue. The decorations were very tasteful and upscale. The catering team went all out. My husband and I were greeted by servers dressed to the nines holding various trays of cocktails and delicacies. As for the rest of the food, it was arranged into different stations, so you could walk around the room and sample items instead of going in a cattle line like most buffet catering is set up. The second event I attended was a business conference for an important client of mine. It was equally as impressive, but the environment was definitely different. There was a business-appropriate section with rows and rows of chairs, all pointing to the forefront area where the speakers took the stage. After the presentations, we were all able to go into a separate area for talking, networking, eating the catered food and having some drinks. In both cases, I was overly satisfied with the service received. I'm not sure if the coordinators had any issues, but I certainly did not hear any complaints. I would imagine that since the place is very classy, it may be a bit pricey, although I cannot say how it compares to other conference halls and reception venues. Regardless, if it suits your style and budget, I would recommend Pier Sixty for any one looking for a venue in the New York Metro area.
