|Several years ago, I attended a wedding at St. Paul's Chapel on the Columbia University Campus in Manhattan. Since Columbia University is centrally located in Manhattan on the upper west side, it's easy to reach by car or taxi.|
I was very impressed by the beauty and elegance of this venue. It can seat at least 500 people comfortably. It was easy to see the bride and groom at the altar because the size of the chapel isn't overwhelming. Also, the acoustics is good. Some of the bridesmaids read passages from their favorite poems from the pulpit. It was easy to see and hear them because the height of the pulpit was just right.
After the ceremony, a reception was held in a hall on campus that was located walking distance from the chapel. This made it easy for the attendees to make their way to reception without much effort. I don't know the name of the reception hall but it was quite large and could easily accommodate at least 500-700 people.
At this particular wedding, the reception hall was arranged with at least 20 round tables that could seat 10 people comfortably. There was a stringed quartet that played soft music to entertain the guest while we waited for the bride and groom to enter.
I would recommend this venue if you plan on having an elegant traditional wedding.
