Beautiful New York Wedding at the Manhattan Penthouse - An Eventective User from Fairview, NJ

My husband and I created our "fairy tale wedding" by renting the Manhattan Penthouse and bringing in outside catering. Located on the top floor of the historic building near Union Square, this bright 8,000-square-foot space can accommodate more that 200 seated guests (with dancing). There are arched twelve-foot-wide windows that yield panoramic views that stretch from Wall Street to Times Square, and Brooklyn to Jersey City. The penthouse really was a big surprise for entering guests who were struck by the many dramatic and panoramic views offered by the huge windows. And, to complete the effect: a strikingly beautiful stained-glass bar. The loft space is open and airy with more window than wall. There are paneled window seats, a beautiful grand piano, and illuminated ficus trees that surround the polished floors. The space rental cost us $3500, but of course the price differs depending on the day of the rental. Our wedding was a Sunday night - and yes, this is cheaper! We were married over Memorial Day Weekend, and with many out of town guests the Sunday was perfect.Rather than a full bar, we served wine, beer, and a special martini bar - "something old (classic martini), new (apple martini), borrowed (my raspberry cosmo recipe), and blue (Tarheel martini)." This way, we saved a ton by not having to stock all of the various mixers, etc. a full bar requires. Overall, the venue was more than perfect - chic, historical, world class, and we had no issues or problems at all. It really did make for a beautiful wedding! I would recommend Manhattan Penthouse heartily to anyone.
