Description
Camp Wendy is situated on a 56-acre site donated to the Girl Scouts of Ulster County by the Borden family in 1926. The site contains gentle rolling hills, beautiful wooded areas, a 13-acre lake, several hiking trails and the strong spirit of Girl Scouting. Its constructed facilities include a large dining hall, infirmary, swimming pool, low-ropes course, six living units of platform tents or lean-to cabins and several other small buildings. Camp Wendy will be closed for the summer of 2006 except for regular camping. We are working hard to re-open Camp in the future. Resident Camp is for girls who are entering first through twelfth grade in the fall. The campers arrive on Sunday afternoon and depart on Friday evening. Girls sleep in platform tents or lean-to cabins with other campers their age and participate in most camp activities as a unit. All Girls ages 6 - 17 are welcomed at Camp Wendy. The Camp Wendy Summer Staff provides supervised program in many areas of camp including swimming, arts and crafts, boating, outdoor exploration and more.
