My sister was married at the QBG a year ago and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in staying close to the city for their wedding but don't want to cram it all together in Manhattan or Brooklyn. The QBG is located off the 7 train, which isn't very popular, and it's about eight blocks from the last stop on that line. However, the hike is just as much a good as a bad thing. The gardens are left with a more suburban feel, and the distance from the city and the bustle has the calming effect one would probably want at a wedding. The scenery is beautiful, the smell in the air a huge improvement over the city, it's close enough to get to but far away enough to feel intimate. I was involved in much of the planning so I can comfortably say that the whole thing went off without a hitch, and was a considerably cheaper option than some of the options in the city. The Botanical Gardens have hosted many different events and are well-equipped for weddings of any scope.
Queens Botanical Gardens is a great venue for meetings, conferences and even weddings. It is a great meeting place for all ages. There are beautiful plants and there even is a Wedding Garden for newly weds. Wedding Gardens are held for wedding ceremonies, including Victorian Style gazebos. The great open space of the gardens is also a great for conferences. With the permission of the park officials, seats can be placed outside for a gathering for about 50 to 100 people. There is parking outside the venue, so everyone is welcomed, without the hassle of looking for parking. Queens Botanical Gardens is slowly expanding their venue. They are replacing their pavement with cobblestone for a more classical look. Every month has their own special plant, and for the month of January is the Christmas Rose. No matter what season, this Queens Botanical Garden is an ideal place. For example, last summer, there were beautiful apples growing on the trees and I myself took a bite out of one. The apple was delicious and it was a great experience for my little cousins to enjoy the scenery. This venue is also great for friends to meet and exercise. Every Saturday morning, you can see elderly people exercising and doing yoga in the park. Dancing is also seen and it is just joyous to watch. From this recommendation, I urge you to come visit the Queens Botanical Garden. It is a great place for any meeting, no matter the circumstances, and it will definitely brighten anyone's day.
