Informal Lodge adjacent to Hessian Lake in the heart of 5000 acre Bear Mountain Park. Built in 1915 by park employees using native materials found on site. Interior features heavy chestnut log posts and beams supporting large stone fireplaces, rustic timber framing, paneling and ceilings, and light fixtures fabricated of native birch and hand-hammered iron. Fireplaces are able to accommodate 10-foot logs. Carpenters constructed sofas, chairs and tables from harvested chestnut trees, making the inn appear more parklike and rugged. The Main Inn has 60 rooms. There are four Stone Lodges one mile from the Main Inn across Hessian Lake. Each stone lodge has six individual hotel rooms with one queen size bed, bathroom, color TV, central air conditioning and heating. The rooms surround a central lobby with a fireplace. The rooms at the Overlook Lodge, are located one mile from the Main Inn across Hessian Lake. These rooms contain two double beds, private bath, and color TV. Overlook Lodge includes a Banquet and Conference Facility holding up to 180 guests. Conference, Executive, Wedding and Bar Mitzvah packages offered. Food and service by Inn Credible Caterers. Park has a variety of activities and entertainment including a zoo, museums, outdoor pool, boat rentals, ice skating rink, and Merry-Go-Round. Dining options include the Cub Room Restaurant, the Lobby Lounge with vaulted ceilings and a fireplace. Close to well-marked nature trails, hikes to Perkins Memorial Tower for panoramas from the top of the Majestic Bear Mountain named for its profile that resembles a bear lying down. Winter outdoor activities includie ice skating and cross country skiing. Summer activities include paddleboating, fishing or swimming.

Bear Mountain Wedding, An Eventective User from Stony Point, NY

We had our wedding at The Overlook Lodge in Bear Mountain State Park on 11/11/11. It was the wedding of our dreams. Our contact at Bear Mountain, Ann Marie, was exceedingly helpful from our initial meeting (before we even booked the location) until the day of our wedding. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our wedding went off spectacularly, and our family and friends are still complimenting us the night. The food is FANTASTIC, and the views are out of this world. We give Bear Mountain a 10 out of 10.
