Situated on Tin Mountain Conservation Center's 400 acre Rockwell Sanctuary on Bald Hill Road in Albany, NH our Nature Learning Center serves as a spectacular gathering place for the community and space for programs fostering natural science education and community awareness and cooperation. It also serves as a great venue for weddings, birthdays, graduations, showers, annual meetings, conferences and more. Our Nature Learning Center was built in 2006 made from woods from 20 different local tree species in custom applications by local craftsman. Most of the wood in the 8500 square foot building was cut and milled on property or within 15 miles from Tin Mountain. Our Great Room is breathtaking and the granite fireplace came from Tin Mountain's old quarry on the property. Each room at Tin Mountain contains these local woods and filled with local history in a beautiful, bright and peaceful setting in nature. Our fully preserved ca. 1800 barn along with an extensive trail system, four-acre pond, granite quarry that was active from 1885-1890, plenty of flat lawn space and unique plant species maintained by the Tin Mountain Garden Club all lending to all the special things about Tin Mountain. We generate 100% of our electricity from integrated solar thermal and solar/photovoltaic systems along with a wood boiler using on-site firewood. We have an EV charging station and plenty of parking. Located in the heart of Mount Washington Valley, Tin Mountain is a non-profit nature center focused on teaching about ecological issues for over 40 years. Our mission is to promote an appreciation of the natural environment among children, adults and families through hands-on programs in the schools, at camps and in the community to demonstrate responsible stewardship of natural resources through land protection, research, sustainable forestry, agriculture and energy.
