Back Adit is a 4 or 5 pc. band (we have the option to include the drummer if needed) located in the inland NW (Spokane to Libby, MT) and we play, for lack of a better description, eclectic retro jazz/swing. We are influenced by Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks as well as the styles of the 1940's dance era. I play tenor, alto and soprano sax, flute, harmonica and misc. percussion (when we don't use the drummer), lead and back-up vocals. Dave Williamson plays acoustic and electric guitar, lead and back-up vocals. Gary Lawrence plays bass, lead and back-up vocals. Wayne Rau plays acoustic and electric mandolin and banjo. Mark Clark plays drums with us on occasion and is an excellent addition. We try to emphasize our vocals and in most songs use 3 part harmonies and lots of call & response type singing.
