Laumeier Sculpture Park was born from a gift made people of St. Louis County and the greater metropolitan area.With the direct support of a group of innovative community leaders and many generous friends, the Laumeier has developed into what it is today-an internationally-recognized open-air museum. It expands the context of contemporary sculpture beyond the traditional confines of a museum. Its mission is to initiate a lifelong process of cultural awareness, enrich, lives and encourage creative thinking by actively engaging people in experiences of sculpture & nature simultaneously.
Laumeier Sculpture Park is a 98-acre, open-air museum just 15 min. from downtown St. Louis. Our outdoor collection of more than 80 sculpture by artists of international acclaim makes the Laumeier one of the region's must see attractions. With over 300000 visitors annually, this is one of the most visited cultural attractions in the area.Laumeier Sculpture Park exhibits contemporary sculpture, as well as drawing,painting, ceramics, glass and photography related to the outdoor sculpture program. New exhibitions are mounted several times per year, both indoors and out. The program draws internationally-known as well as emerging artists to the site to create, install and lecture on their work.
