A beautiful venue in a terrific location - An Eventective User from Roseville, MN

317 on Rice Park is a beautiful venue in downtown St. Paul, near Rice Park, the riverfront, the modern-industrial architecture of the Science Museum, and the gorgeous St. Paul Hotel. In addition to the prime location, the venue itself offers two large spaces, both of which can accommodate a rather large wedding. We had our ceremony in one room and the reception in the other, with a cocktail hour in between in the stunning lobby and bar areas. Nearly all of our 175-plus guests commented on the beautiful mahogany wood, the classic staircase and bannister, and the absolutely pristine cleanliness of the place. The in-house catering and management company was a breeze to work with, and accommodated every request we had, and we had many. Starting with a private tasting event, we got to select all of our passed appetizers, sides, desserts, wines, and more. The room accommodated both a live band and an iPod for the dance, and one of the bar rooms had a great LCD TV that we used to screen a film during the cocktail hour. Finally, this being downtown St. Paul, the venue provided us with a digital parking certificate to a nearby ramp to provide to our guests so that they we could pay for their parking rather than leaving it up to them to find parking. Our guests stayed at the historic St. Paul Hotel, and the overall experience was breathtaking. The only negative thing I can think to say is that it is definitely one of the most expensive of all the venues we looked at in the MSP area, but we felt it was well worth it.
