One of my favorite restaraunts so happens to be located in Minneapolis. This particular restaurant also happens to be my first choice whenever I go to Minneapolis for a presentation, meeting, or on the rare occasion I go out with my friends from the Twin Cities. The Local is an Irish pub, wrapped in with a great restaurant. Normally, I would talk about a specific experience that stood out as being great, but I have never had a bad, or even an average experience here. The food is amazing, it's not overly fancy(unless you want to brave the Irish Cuisine, if you do, just order, don't ask what it is until you are done), but it is great quality. Although, I do not personally drink, I am told that the bartenders are great with alcoholic drinks, and I can vouch for the production of non-alcoholic drinks as being top-notch. The service is friendly and from my experiences both quick and accurate. The accommodations are standard as far as amenities, but what they do offer is an amazing atmosphere(sometimes live music), befitting a traditional Irish pub as far as pleasantness, with a little bit less overall dysfunction. Amongst businesses, the prices are both competitive and surprisingly low. The food and drinks are low compared to many places in the area of comparable style. The rental of space is what you would expect for a medium prices bar. What makes The Local, so great is the combination of all of these, and the continuity of good service. I have been going to The Local for close to 3 years. 3 to 4 times per year for business and 1-2 times per year for personal reasons, I consider myself a solid patron of the establishment. And it has more to do with the fact that I have never had a bad experience than it does with the food or value.
