I chose Sweetest Heart of Mary because of the importance to my family- on both my mother's and father's side. It has a beautiful, detailed and ornate interior. The parking lot is guard gated. The organ is one of few left of its age. While the presiding priest is a pain with "his" rules, we brought our own priest in to preside over our Mass. You are limited in time while there; our wedding started at 2PM, and we had to be done with Mass and pictures by 3:30PM. There are even some pictures with church event coordinators seen in the background trying to prepare for the Mass following our ceremony. You also have a limited choice as to Bible readings. There is no air conditioning, so keep that in mind while planning summer events. I've also attended Christmas Mass here, and I'm not sure if they have heat either. They require a $500 returnable deposit, plus $700 for church rental. $1200 up front can be pretty steep especially since most churches are free, or close to that. However, since parish membership and tithing is down, most of their income is from wedding and funeral services. Despite all of the cons, I had a beautiful, seamless ceremony and would recommend this gem to any Catholic who imagines getting married in a traditional, gorgeous setting.
