Welcome to the Thomson Country Club, the ideal location for your next golf outing. Our professional staff will help make your outing a memorable one. We feature a classic Geoffry Cornish design that will offer a challenge to the most accomplished golfer yet offers the recreational golfer a layout that will surely be an enjoyable experience. Our golf staff is here to please and our Clubhouse staff can provide you with a variety of menus ranging from sandwiches to a New England Clambake. For more information please contact Webb Heintzelman, our Golf Professional at *NOT DISPLAYED* . Thomson Country Club opened for play on May 30, 1963. The 204 acre tract of land from which it was routed was purchased in 1961 by the Thomson Club celebrating its 50th anniversary of operation. The Thomson Club was a social club for General Electric Engineers. The first 9 holes of the golf course opened in 1963 with the second 9 holes completed a year later in 1964. The golf course has, since its inception, been known for its tight fairways and large tricky greens. The condominiums on the golf course were built between 1981 and 1985 and while they altered the original design slightly, they certainly don’t alter the challenge or beauty of the golf course. A fire destroyed the original pro shop in 1982 and the new pro shop stands on the same ground. Our elegant setting can accommodate up to two hundred and fifty people. We host only one event per day, so you have our exclusive attention. Our experienced staff will cater to your every need including providing assistance with photographers, florist, or any other extras you may need. Our culinary staff will prepare a dinner worthy of your special celebration. If you are looking for the perfect setting to host your Outing, Anniversary, Shower, Retirement Party, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, or any other special event, then look no further! At the Thomson Country Club we have facilities to suit your needs regardless of the size of your party. Our Main Ballroom and Dining Room can handle events for up to 250 people. Our Small Dining Room can handle up to 50 people. Our Board Room can handle luncheon or dinner meetings for 20/25 people.

Thomson Country Club, North Reading — 18 is a great finishing hole. A good tee shot with a slight fade rewards you with a nice approach to an elevated green. Stay out of the bunkers on the right as it will be tough to get it close from there.

A fairly short par 3 hole with a water hazard to your right and out of bounds both right and over the green. There are bunkers surrounding the green. Can be difficult to putt depending on pin location.Thomson Country Club, North Reading — Hole 10
Slight dogleg left, long hitters hit a 3 wood or long iron off the tee. Don’t go through the fairway on the right! Good birdie opportunity depending on pin position. If its middle right, then be very cautious.Thomson Country Club, North Reading — Hole 14
A good par 5 to make birdie. Long hitters can reach this green in 2. The first half of the hole runs pretty severely from left to right. You have to hit it down the left side to stay out of the right rough. You can lay up to the 100-yard marker and have a nice approach to the green; but don’t go long!Thomson Country Club, North Reading — Hole 2
Short par 4, but don’t think short is easy. Very narrow par 4; .you have o.b. right until about 180 yards out; then you have a hazard all the way to the green. Down the left side is out of bounds with several fairway bunkers, a must to hit the green.Thomson Country Club, North ReadingThomson Country Club, North Reading — Driving Directions
