About Hammond Castle

Nestled on Gloucester’s rocky Atlantic coast, the Hammond Castle Museum is the perfect setting for your wedding or other memorable event. The building that began as a vision of John Hays Hammond Jr. to showcase his vast collection of Medieval and Renaissance artifacts continues to inspire and educate all who visit here. Areas comprising the rental include the captivating Great Hall, the Renaissance Dining room, the Courtyard and the Oceanside lawn, which all serve as picturesque settings, each with their own elegance. This unforgettable and dramatic venue adds a tranquil element to any occasion while offering a breathtaking backdrop for your photos to last a lifetime. As you will be using a fully functioning museum with regularly scheduled hours, all event rentals will start after closing hours during our Seasonal hours of operation. Choosing a historical venue is a meaningful way to introduce guests to a place of significance, as well as to contribute to its preservation. The rental fee includes one-half hour of rehearsal time if a wedding ceremony is scheduled at the Museum. It also includes one and one half hour in which to set up, and one-half hour to break down the event. Function set-ups start at 4 PM, but allows for the arrival of all vendors to unload equipment at 3:30. Guests may arrive at 5:30. If your photographer requires more time to prepare for the bridal shoot, our Managing Director should be consulted. We also offer corporate rentals as an opportunity for your employees and customers or clients to enjoy the same seaside venue.
