| Seven miles seaward from downtown Boston, Georges Island contains a large dock, picnic grounds, open fields, paved walk ways, a parade ground and a gravel beach. Dominated by Fort Warren, a National Historic Landmark, this 39-acre island is a main hub for many island events and activities. Guided tours of historic Fort Warren can be provided, during which you would learn about the military history of the Fort, hear ghost stories and other exciting tales of George’s Island folklore. |

At 87 acres, Spectacle Island has become the highest point in the harbor with spectacular panoramic views of Boston and Boston Light. You can also enjoy the new features of this island, including a marina, visitor center, two sandy beaches, and five miles of walking trails that lead to the crest of a 157 foot-high hill. |
