While I specialize in the music of the 50's, 60's, and 70's, I also have the top hits from the ‘40s to the present day. In the rare instance that I don’t have a particular song in my library, I can generally download it in response to a special request.

Those Oldies But Goodies DJ/MC Entertainment specializes in the music of the ’50, ‘60s, and ‘70s, making our music especially appropriate for your upcoming event. We also maintain a huge library with the top hits from the 40’s to the present, so that we can respond to additional requests as well. Most important is what we bring to your affair—a professional DJ who loves this music and has 30+ years of experience playing the songs of yesterday both live and on radio and public access television.
When you book Those Oldies But Goodies, you don’t have to wonder about which DJ is coming to your event. You always get me personally, along with my wife and partner, Nancy Slabine. She works with me to help facilitate the affair, get people on their feet, and ensure that the evening runs smoothly. Together, we can make your event exciting and fun-filled, complete with lively and slow dancing, musical games, and other activities designed to get everyone involved. We can also make it as low key as you desire.
Our on-line planning tools and consultation services make it easy to select music and develop a timeline that reflects your personal taste and style. Some people like to choose their entire playlist, while others prefer to select a few favorite songs and artists and let me do the rest. After years of experience, I know which songs to play and not to play to assure you of a great event.
I can also design games that are personalized for the guest(s) of honor. A crowd favorite involves what I call “Oldies Trivia”—questions linked to key milestones in people’s lives. For example, what was the number 1 song on the day they were born or married? On the day their children were born? When they graduated from high school or college? Also, what happened on that date in history? Who shares their birthday, anniversary, or graduation date?
This special Eventective price includes set up, breakdown, and travel. There are absolutely no hidden fees. You also get the following:
1. Telephone and/or face-to-face consultation to make sure that we review and plan all of the details of your event ahead of time. That way all you have to do is show up and enjoy the party.
2. Planning tools that allow you to choose the music for your event and develop a timeline of activities for the evening. These tools help ensure that we play the music you want to hear and that the evening has a great flow. You can be as actively involved as you desire.
3. At least two hours of advance planning by your DJ---choosing the right songs, creating Oldies Trivia questions keyed to your special milestones, and engaging in other preparation activities.
4. Arrival at the venue at least one hour prior to start time so we’re ready when you are.
5. Proper attire for the occasion—whether it be a tuxedo, suit, or casual dress.
6. Musical contests, special dances, trivia, and other activities designed to make your event pleasurable for you and your guests.
7. The latest professional equipment that includes two Powered Mackie speakers that have more power then you will ever need. Of course, we can turn the volume up or down to suit our audience.
8. Full insurance to cover any emergency.
9. An extensive on-line library of over 22,000 songs. In addition, if someone requests a special song that we don’t already have, we can download it quickly.
10. Lighting for dancing (upon request) and a wireless microphone for all announcements.
