A perfect place for a special ocassion - An Eventective User from Sandy, Spring MD

Welcome to Sandy Spring, Maryland. This is where I grew up. Sandy Spring was originally founded by the Quakers. The first arrived back in the 1700's. By the 1800's Sandy Spring, MD was a bustling town for farming and trade. It is also an ideal place for your special event. I had the privilege to get married in Sandy Spring Museum. This museum is the perfect place for an event. It has a outside center court in the middle of the museum in which ceremonies can take place or have an outside event if the weather permits. We used the long hallway to set up tables (which they provide) to put our banquet food out. We got married in the large vaulted ceiling room, which is perfect to entertain up to about 80 guests. They can provide round tables for your event included in the rental cost of the museum. The really fascinating part is the museum room itself, in which guests can tour the local history of Sandy Spring, Maryland. They also have a lovely small gift shop which has items of local interest including artwork and jewelry. Another convenient aspect is that they have a kitchen available for use while renting. Key note: Though they are not found of alcohol, though wine can be permitted with permission in advance. They also have plenty of side parking in their own driveway. The front of the museum is beautifully landscaped which allows for a great outdoor ceremony during nicer weather. The staff is excellent, accommodating and I would return in a heartbeat.
