About The Portland Masonic

The Portland Masonic, a historic landmark located in downtown Portland built in 1911, offers one of a kind space for those looking to host both intimate and large special events, holiday parties, weddings or corporate meetings. Over the last five years, with the help of our exclusive catering partner, Blue Elephant Events & Catering and exclusive beverage partner, Spirits Catering, The Portland Masonic has hosted a plethora of events and weddings. The Portland Press Herald says, "The Portland Masonic has some of the most magnificent interior spaces in Maine", while The Bollard calls The Portland Masonic “an architectural marvel hidden in plain sight." The first-floor and limited space on the second-floor is available for rent and features period millwork, original Tiffany stained glass windows, antique crystal chandeliers and extensive use of scagliola, a 17th century plaster technique producing a marble-like finish on walls. This technique can also be found in places such as Buckingham Palace. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, all event bookings are applied directly to The Portland Masonic Building Restoration Fund, assisting with the many ongoing restoration efforts within the building, eventually allowing all six floors of The Portland Masonic to be opened for public use.
