The Common Table a coastal Inn/B & B in Harpswell, Maine is the perfect place to meet, eat and sleep. Ideal for outdoor weddings (20 to 125 guests), parties, Bar-BQs , meetings/retreats/gatherings overnight accommodations, any meal, any day events are all offered by the Common Table. Offering a destination like feel yet is only 12 miles from Bowdoin College, the Inn sits on 9 acres with farm ponds, wooded areas, 3 seasons gardens and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets and plenty of free parking. Weddings, lobster bakes, pig roasts and other outdoor events are available from June 1 to September 30. The Common Table is open year round for indoor events for 20 people wanting sit down meals, 20 - 50 guests for other events, meeting space for 5 to 15 people. Food prepared on premise using local ingredients whenever possible. No set menus. We work with you to custom plan the menu for your special event.

The Common Table is a lovely house with one of the nicest hosts I've met. We were greeted with tea and delicious homemade cookies, and, in the morning, breakfast was great.

Management Response:
I remember the guests who wrote this and would happily refund their money. These folks were at the Inn during our first season of operation (2006). Most assuredly, there was never an intention to mislead.
Being a Maine kid who has lived around water my entire life, I did not consider how my statement could have been misinterpreted. When I stated, "the inn is at the end of a peninsula, surrounded on three sides by water, and you can't get much closer", I was talking to people from Arizona.
Water is visible nine months out of the year from the Inn. While it is true that during the three summer months the water is not visible, its feel, its smells and its sounds are hard to ignore.
At the time of their visit, the coast was so socked in with fog no one living as close or closer to the water as the Common Table could actually see it.
