This magnificent historic 19th century barn sits majestically atop a hill overlooking wetlands, meadows, the historic Homestead, and animal pastures. The peaceful, rural setting includes a pond, wetlands, livestock pens, prairie grasses, and crop fields. The barn, originally built in 1871, housed livestock and stored farm equipment serving the farm for over 100 years. The barn has been restored to capture the rustic look of the historical structure. Rentals at Salomon Farm Park help to sustain this relaxing green oasis that is in a bustling part of Fort Wayne. Your guests will be in awe of the craftmanship of the historic barn and literally "aw" out loud when they see the barn up close and meet our barnyard animals nearby at your special event. The Historic Old Barn is elegant enough for your wedding day, rustic enough for your family reunion, perfect for your child's graduation party, or fun enough for your next corporate outing. The Wolf Family Learning Center is a gorgeous contemporary building inspired by barn design. It has modern amenities, including a full teaching kitchen. This building overlooks pristine produce gardens and is the first building on the property, welcoming all visitors to come enjoy a simpler life on the farm! The WFLC was expanded in 2018 with 4,000 additional square feet added to the original building. The interior features large sliding barn doors that act as a modular wall to shut off a smaller room that can be used for a staging space for wedding parties or caterers, a safe area to store belongings during events, or it can be left open for a larger event space! Nearly two acres of sunflowers are planted annually in the field just north of the Learning Center's parking lot. Not to mention our flower garden, where wedding ceremonies can take place, just south of the Learning Center. We have full-blooming fields each year, which are perfect for a photo backdrop and/or a rehearsal or business dinner in the flower garden. There are endless possibilities for the use of the W.F. Learning Center and it's surrounding areas! The Salomon Family Homestead is the original home of the Salomon family which housed five generations. It is situated among beautiful tree groves surrounding the home with a private drive for easy access. It is ADA accessible. Farm animals can be seen from the Homestead grounds, as well as vegetable gardens, our flower garden, the Historic Old Barn, and the other barns we have on the property. The Homestead is a perfect venue to hold book clubs, baby showers, small groups, that intimate gathering of friends and family, and/or so much more. This unique walking Covered Bridge was completed in 2020. It is located on the south end of Salomon Farm Park near an untouched beautiful meadow and runs over Beckett's Creek linking the north side of the farm to it's south side. It is a wonderful place of peace where you can reflect on Mr. Don Wolf's "Keys to a Happy and Productive Life: Treat others as you would like to be treated. Be happy and have an optimistic attitude. Think for yourself, don't be a follower. Hoe to the end of the row, finish the job." Note: The Covered Bridge is for foot traffic only. No motorized vehicles are permitted to cross the bridge. Vehicles can access parking for the Covered Bridge and nearby open space off Till Road.
