About Chapel on the Green

Dating back to 1855, and built from hand-hewn oak and walnut beams cut from woods along the nearby Fox River, this structure holds the unique distinction of being Kendall County’s oldest church building. With it’s “New England-style” charm, 1899 pipe organ, and original stained glass windows, the Chapel on the Green is one of the most architecturally and historically significant structures in the county. In 2016, The Chapel on the Green was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The Chapel on the Green is available for weddings and receptions, vow renewal ceremonies, showers, baptisms, memorial services, reunions, and other special occasions. Amenities include: beautiful original stained glass windows, newly renovated and spacious bride and groom rooms, organist available to play our 100-year old pipe organ or piano, lower level Friendship Hall with kitchen for your banquet or reception, list of local wedding services, and a sanctuary which seats up to 200 guests. We have recently added a wheelchair ramp which connects the main entrance to the Church Street parking area, which enables better access to our upper level.
