Romantic, gothic appeal - An Eventective User from Macon, GA

The chapel of Agnes Scott College is a gorgeous venue for a wedding! The sun shines through the large window on to the altar and it's really breathtaking. It's a smaller chapel and can seat only about 100 people, but the beauty of the place and the potential for pictures around the picturesque college makes the sacrifice totally worth it. The chapel offers a changing space for the bride and attendants, and the entire college is paved with brick pathways. If you time it right, you can have your wedding when the magnolia trees are in bloom (which we did), or in the fall when we went to visit and saw all of the leaves turning colors. Our reception was held in the college dining hall, which I was worried about, but the architecture is echoed throughout the campus and gothic style chandeliers are hung in the dining hall. There are also really nice wood floors and the way we had it decorated, you could hardly tell it was a college, let alone a dining hall! The only negative I would have about the place is that while there is a parking deck, it's a short walk to the chapel and because of the brick, it might be a bit difficult to walk on in heels. All in all, a really gorgeous place with awesome staff to work with. I would definitely recommend the Julia Thompson Smith Chapel at Agnes Scott College for a wedding.
