Amazing, Couldn't Have Gone Better - An Eventective User from Athens, Ga

Having to plan a somewhat last minute black tie event for over 250 people can be hectic, to say the least. However, the Aquarium and Joseph, the event coordinator that helped me throughout the whole process, simplified the whole ordeal for me and made an amazing evening out of it!

Greatest Wedding Venue EVER! - An Eventective User from Charlotte, NC

The Ocean's Ballroom at the Georgia Aquarium is a wonderful place to get married, especially if you're looking for a 'under-water' oasis! The staff & team that work here are amazing people and work with you on every detail! They also work with your budget and make the planning productive yet fun! I would highly recommend this venue for all ocean-lover fans & fish-friendly friends!

Fantastic Venue! - An Eventective User from Atlanta, GA

My now-husband and I had an AMAZING experience at the Georgia Aquarium. The catering sales manager, Brittney, answered every single question that I had (regardless of how many emails I sent), and by the time that our wedding day came, I had no doubt that everything would be perfect. Not only was everything put into place exactly as we had talked about it, Brittney and the rest of the Wolfgang Puck staff even helped when one of my other vendors fell short and didn't put out (or pick up) our reception centerpieces. I really felt as though everyone cared about me personally, and that this was not just another wedding. As far as the catering, we had a brunch buffet for our 12pm reception and it was FANTASTIC. We have been married for three weeks now, and people are STILL telling us how good the food was. I highly recommend this venue.

Perfect Wedding Venue! - An Eventective User from Atlanta,GA

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Georgia Aquarium on March 12, 2016! Everything about the day was perfect and better than we could have ever dreamed of! Everything went smoothly and the event staff were fintastic! ;) Our coordinators and team were amazing and helped us have a perfect day! Julia Flannery was amazing and helped throughout the process from beginning to end. There are changing rooms for Bride and Bridesmaids and the Groom and Groomsmen. The Bride's room is spacious enough that we were able to get ready without getting in each other's way. The Groom's room is also a decent size - the Groom and his 7 groomsmen were comfortable. The ceremony was in the Pre-function space of the oceans ballroom and it was set up so nicely. We didn't feel that it needed to be decorated further because of the jellyfish light fixtures on the ceiling and the backlit wall that we did the ceremony against. The cocktail hour took place in front of the Ocean Voyager winder, and it was a HUGE hit with our guests! The high top tables and low tables were great for those who wanted to stand or needed to sit during the cocktail hour. The reception room was in the Beluga room, and it was breathtakingly gorgeous!! We chose to have blue lights on the ceiling and the waves looked beautiful. The cake was set up by the beluga window, and the belugas themselves were so wonderful!! We loved them and so did our guests. It was wonderful that there was staff from the Aquarium that could answer questions that guests had when they were by the beluga window and the Ocean's Voyager window! The food was heavenly and the presentation was beautiful! It almost looked too nice to touch! I felt like everyone at the Aquarium went out of their way to help us and to make the night perfect! We hope that we get to hold another event at the Georgia Aquarium in the future because this was the most magical experience we've ever had! Perfect wedding day all around!!

Great Place for large meetings, conventions - An Eventective User from Atlanta, ga

I recently went to the Georgia Aquarium to attend an awards ceremony. The room that the ceremony took place in was impressively large, and on one of the room's walls was a wall to the aquarium which displayed various marine species. The architecture, design, and lighting of the room made for a quite intriguing and eye-catching backdrop for the ceremony. The photos that we had made there turned out great. I would have to say that my only complaint about the event itself would be about the check-in lines to enter the awards ceremony room. I am not sure if it was the fault of the Georgia Aquarium or the fault of the event planners, but the check-in line was located in the hallway very close to the entrance of the room that the ceremony was taking place in, which caused some logistical problems and bottle necks with people trying to check-in to the awards ceremony or simply enter or exit the award ceremony room to use the rest room or explore the aquarium's other areas. The acoustics were sufficient and I was able to hear all of the presenters fairly well. Food was served at the event, although I am not sure who was responsible for the food. From my recollection, the food was neither disappointing nor mind-blowing. Over all, I would have to say that I would look forward to attending another event at the Georgia Aquarium if I had the opportunity; it is definitely more visually interesting and stimulating than a typical hotel meeting place for conferences, awards ceremonies, etc.

Under the Sea - An Eventective User from Atlanta, GA-same

I would recommend the GA aquarium for a wedding event in Atlanta. The location is in downtown Atlanta so there are plenty of activities and places to stay. Your guests can go to the Atlanta Zoo, see a Braves game, Catch a concert, catch a hawks game, see Disney on ice, jog through piedmont park, or go to the world of Coca cola. You would not be far from Centennial Park or the Atlanta night life for those of us that are still single. For your guest that flew in, they would not have to rent a car because the Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority or MARTA is a reliable city wide transportation system with buses, trains, and shuttles from all around the metro area The Aquarium would be a great wedding place because you would have unique photo opportunities. There are several rooms to eat and in house catering services for your guests. The prices are comparative to other renting venues, but this way, your guest get to see one of the Metro Atlanta area great sites at their visit together as a newly united family The weather is hot to mildly cold so you won't have to worry about snow most years. The Aquarium is a cool alternative to the traditional wedding where the bride and groom are standing in expensive formal clothing outside in the sweltering heat. This way, all of your guests have the option of staying as fresh and beautiful as the time they stepped into the venue.

Under the Sea - An Eventective User from Atlanta, GA

I wanted a whimsical, etheral wedding, and the Georgia Aquarium certainly met that mark. From sea turtles to sharks, my guests were entranced by the sea life all around them. It was really a 360 experience that couldn't be matched. While the GA Aquarium is geared toward a younger set by day, and evening event or wedding at teh Aquariam is certainly a sophisticated affair. The on site caterer did a create job with passes seafood appetizers ranging from calamari to steamed squid to fried shrimp poppers to lobster tails. The event planner also did an awesome job working in our sea horse (they mate for life, you know) them into some of our paper goods. I was worried that the venue might smell fishy, but it did not. That was a big relief! I think the best part about the venue was how magical our pictures turned out! Like nothing else. Absoluting enchanting! I felt like Ariel from the Little Mermaid! I dressed my bridesmaid in a marine blue chiffon and it fit in perfectly. I liked how the guests had the freedom to roam the grounds. It didnt feel stilted and forced like many weddings at event or catering halls I had been to. It was pricey but absolutley worth it. For extra money, your guest can even sleep over.. but unfortunately that just wasn't in my budget. Maybe for my next wedding (I kid, I kid). Well, maybe for my anniversary my hubs and I might spend the night. You must book well over a year in advance to book this venue! It fills up fast with special events on the best weekends! Especially on Saturday nights!
