The PowerCats is an upbeat Classic/Rockin’/Surfabilly/Blues/Dance/Party band from Palm Beach County, Florida that performs a wide range of musical styles. From Classic Rock (The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Police, U2, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and Tom Petty –to name a few) to the classics from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s and 80’s, along with some country and boogie-woogie shuffles, down-and-dirty blues, and Surf Rock toe-tappers. The PowerCats has a large play list from which to choose and the band has built a reputation for performing songs that are not often done in the local area by other bands. From their start as the house band for Elwood’s in Delray Beach, The PowerCats has built a strong, loyal following which is a reflection of their commitment to entertain. The band has performed in Florida from coast-to-coast, from the Clearwater area and throughout Palm Beach and Martin Counties. Band members include Geoff Livingston (bass & vocals), John Smotherman (guitar & vocals) and Andy Frame (drums and vocals). As a three piece unit, the band packs the punch of a solid dance band, and when budgeting allows also features the addition of keyboards which adds a new dimension to the sound. The members of the band have performed in many nightclubs, bars, special events, and concert series like Clematis By Night and SunFest.
