Ella Burling Hall was the drawing room of the mansion that now serves as International Student House. The furnishings can be arranged to accommodate small, intimate groups or larger groups of up to 130 people. Groups of 10 to 30 can comfortably meet in an informal setting around the fireplace. Twelve people can dine comfortably around the 15th century refectory table. The hall will accommodate a sit-down dinner for up to 120. For larger lectures or concerts, chairs are arranged among the room’s furnishings to maintain the feeling of attending a event in a great manor house. Our catering emphasizes the unique setting of the Ella Burling Hall and is reminiscent of service in a manor house. Silver and crystal are used to create an elegant and unique setting. The Refectory table is a dramatic focal point, but food and refreshments are presented throughout the Ella Burling Hall to minimize the time your guests wait in food lines and maximize the time people socialize.

The Gallery is softly lit with brass wall sconces and stained glass windows.

The garden at International Student House provides a lovely setting for receptions, garden parties, concerts and ceremonies. Our complete catering service is available including informal barbeques. The garden may be used in conjunction with our Tudor ballroom. Utilizing both the garden and Ella Burling Hall provides a secure backup plan in case of spring or summer rains.
