"Washington Convention Center", An Eventective User from Washington, DC
The Washington Convention Center and its design team receive the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) awards for the most successful urban development project. The Convention Center project is the first to ever receive the prestigious awards.

Walter E. Washington Convention Center is the second largest building in the nation's capital.
The building has a 38,000 ton steel super-structure or enough steel for seven Eiffel Towers.

"The Beautiful Washington D.C. Convention Center", An Eventective User from Catlett, Va
Washington D.C. the nation's capital, the perfect place to host any event. I recently had the opportunity to attend a conference at the Washington D.C. Convention Center and was really surprised at it's beauty and it's charm. The large windows overlooking the Washington DC area were beautiful, although perhaps distracting at times when I should have been listening to the speaker. The food at the banquet was delicious and the place was just as breathtaking as the room we had our lecture in. The staff were extremely accommodating to those of us who weren't quite sure were we were supposed to be. The convention center hosts small events through large events!

The building has three levels, a concourse and a lower level! It is accessible to handicap and has many different entrances. It is located in the heart of D.C. so there is plenty to do when your activity is finished or has a break. I love an hour from D.C. and was still glad for this opportunity because I truly do not get to take in the sights of Washington D.C. as much as I probably should! This would be the perfect place for any activity! I absolutely cannot think of something they could not accommodate from a concert to a wedding to a banquet to a conference full of workshops and group sessions. I had never been here before but absolutely think it's the perfect place to have my next event! I also look forward to attending the next conference there! My favorite educational conference location so far!

"Consider the roomy and spacious Walter E Washington Convention Center for your needs", An Eventective User from Washington D.C.
I recently visited the Walter E Washington Convention Center for a science conference and festival and was pleasantly surprised. Despite how crowded downtown Washington D.C. can be, the Walter E Washington Convention Center was roomy and spacious in a convenient location. The entrance is located directly next to the Mt. Vernon metro stop on the yellow line which will allow you and any participants the option of public transportation. There are plenty of individual rooms for private meetings, seminars, and presentations while the larger hall offers more than enough room for exhibits, vendor tables and any other large attractions for your meeting or convention. I checked out several restrooms during my time there, all were incredibly clean. Besides being clean, each restroom also had many urinals and stalls, which helped to keep any lines quickly moving. The center also provides food and drinks on site which can be a real benefit since you will not have to deal with catering or bringing in outside food or drinks if you do not want to. One note however, the food is typical (chicken tenders, nachos, etc) and is overpriced like similar concert or sport venues. This would mean if you are trying to hold a higher level conference/meeting, you may want to consider other food options. Being in downtown D.C., the convention center is close to many other attractions, restaurants, and hotels in the middle of Washington. This can be very convenient for guests because there are other fun attractions nearby (most attractions are also available by metro). I would strongly recommend considering the Walter E Convention Center for any professional meeting or convention, however larger meetings and conventions will likely do best here and can take advantage of all the enormous space this convention hall has to offer. The convention center offers competitive pricing and also takes into consideration the size of your event (an under 500 people package and a over 500 people package). They will give you custom quotes and information if you request it.
