Learn the art of decorative and functional pottery, using the potters wheel and ceramic sculpting, in a professional, spacious and well lit studio centrally located in Stamford, CT. The environment is hospitable and friendly. Group classes or private lessons and teachers professional development programs are available. After school classes, home school and summer camp programs for children are offered. Open Studio time can be purchased for independent work. Custom programs, birthday party events for both, children or adults, corporate team building workshops and gift certificates are also offered.

A typical party is one session where the participants build their art project and select the glaze they like at the end.Lakeside Pottery Ceramic School  and Studio, Stamford — Our 8-week after school Pottery / Ceramic Art programs are designed to provide children with the experience of an actual professional pottery studio. During each weekly program, the students will learn to use the potters wheel, learn handbuilding / sculpturing techniques and glaze all of their projects that they will accomplish during the program. The projects are fun and creative and will be taught by our accomplished artist / teachers. No prior ceramics experience is required. More challenging work will be assigned to students with previous experienceLakeside Pottery Ceramic School  and Studio, Stamford — For those who have mastered wheel-throwing basic skills such as centering, pulling and trimming, we've designed a course that takes you to the next level. This class provides demonstrations and instruction on more complex forms (e.g., altered forms, surface texture, multiple parts, large vessels and other ideas) coupled with constructive evaluation of your work.

The instructors will demonstrate and assign class projects, such as bowls, covered jars, pitchers, or vases; advanced students will be encouraged to work independently. The Exercise: Introductory to pottery and it's qualities physically and mentaly/spiritually. Hands-on exercise including "closed eyes hand building activity". Each participant will end up making something beautiful. Discussion and "getting to know each other" exercise while working with clay.


Potter's wheel demonstration and hands-on to those who are interested (they'll get dirty) is optional.


All hand built items made by participants could be fired (additional cost) with the color chosen by each individual. The glazed artwork will be picked up or mailed approx. two weeks later.
