 2/5/2008 | | "Historic Gem", ProPlanner from Novato, California | | Our New Years eve dining experience at The Stonehouse was delightful. We had a group of friends from Tahoe with us - the Stonehouse is a great midway point between the Bay Area (SF) and Lake Tahoe in the historic gold mining town of Nevada City. The service way so friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. The restaurant had a special 5 course menu which included a delicious appetizer of fresh scallops and prawns topped with a corn salsa. We SO enjoyed the ambiance, the stone walls (hence the name "Stonehouse'), and the antiques. After dinner, they had a rockin' blues band downstairs and we danced the night away into the New Year - we loved the atmosphere and the people. We are looking forward to coming back - especially in the heat of summer - to dine on their stone patio. |
