~ The Coffee Gallery Backstage is a 49 seat show room connected to a coffee house surprisingly called, "The Coffee Gallery." The Backstage is a listening room with a fine sound system, good lights, comfortable seating and a killer atmosphere.
The room "location" is a coffee bean warehouse somewhere in Central America. You are comfortably stranded while your cruise ship rides out a storm at the mouth of the river. You, fortunately, are ashore and have stumbled upon this warehouse where a group of musical and witty, mostly American, expatriates are earning their cups of exotic coffee by entertaining with voice, guitar and humor.
There seems to be a never-ending supply of them; it is almost always a different group every weekend night. The entertainers seem to be overjoyed with this bean storage facility as the audience is starved for "good" music and comedy and no machinery of any kind makes a sound while they are performing. Grinders are not allowed. Each individual bean is crushed, quietly, by hand by underpaid field workers.
With a unique repertoire from the Great American Songbook, "Musique Noir" takes audiences back to a time when Sinatra dominated the charts, and JAZZ and SWING music flowed from every night club across America. Their infectious sound can be heard at concerts, Vegas hotels and casinos, dances, festivals, parties, nightclubs, cruise ships and countless other venues.
Leading the band is Phil Jeffrey, with his haunting vocals reminiscent of a bygone era. His confident charm has captivated audiences for over 40 years and has won the praises of fans around the world.
Enjoy the smooth and sultry sounds of Musique Noir as they take you on a nostalgic journey with some of America's greatest music.
Crowd pleasers like, Come Fly With Me, Got the World on a String, New York, New York, , and all the great hits from the 40"s, 50's, and 60's, along with a long list of instrumentals and other dance favorites. Phil has been delighting audiences for over 30 years on television and in nightclubs and theaters across the country as a tribute artist, crooning in the Frank Sinatra style. Phil can perform as a single with tracks, with a live trio, or a 17 piece big band with the original Nelson Riddle big band charts. Phil has appeared in countless performances as guest vocalist with all the major big bands across the country, as a special guest. Events have included private parties and weddings, at the Mirage in Las Vegas, Shutters on the Beach, Loew's Santa Monica and the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, and as a Las Vegas headliner for convention dates at Caesar's Palace, the Riviera, and the Las Vegas Hilton.
