 7/29/2011 | | "Seaside Wonder", jpietersma from Kentville, Nova Scotia | | I just attended this venue a week ago today for a family members wedding reception. I am from another province entirely and did not know what to expect with this venue,from the outside it looked average and I figured it would be an average venue. The wedding was at a church in the same area which was also nice so the surrounding area is beautiful. My fist impression when I got inside was WOW. The inside of the hotel was older in style which was surprising because the outside was newer looking. The staff were helpful and got me in the right direction for the party. When i got into the room i was surprised to see that the room was quite large,enough to sit 150 people anyway. The decorating which was done by the hotel was beautiful and you could easily tell that they took the time and care to make sure it was perfect. The outside area is sectioned off from the rest of the town by large high bushes and lots of patio room. The food service was by far the best meal I have ever had for a wedding reception,the chef was even serving the group and cutting up the roast beef on the spot which was wonderful. The deserts were to die for and the overall meal was A+. The real beauty of the venue is it is RIGHT next to the waterfront and a place called Spinackers Landing.I went outside at one point in the night only to discover some live music being played and on a nice night with a wonderful ocean breeze it made the night that much better. If anyone wants to throw a party,whether its for a wedding or a reunion,this is a grade A spot. |
