The first-class Charlie White Theatre is known as one of the premier community performance theatres in the province. The Charlie White Theatre brings arts and culture to the Mary Winspear Centre with multi-genre performances including stage shows, concerts, dance and lectures. The Charlie White Theatre is a proscenium style theatre that was built with convenience in mind. There are three separate entrances onto the stage including a large pair of oversized double doors stage left, a moveable panel wall that creates a 16’x8’ opening in the back stage wall and regular crossover doors both stage right and left. The stage itself has a 16’ semi circular removable apron that is made up of modular panels on legs that lock together. The theatre's seating has 3 sections, 8 rows and 310 plush velvet chairs all with unobstructed views, including 4 wheelchair accessible spaces in the front row. Climate controlled heating and cooling and a private reception lobby allow for the most comfortable experience possible. Those who have attended the Charlie White Theater will attest to its quality, luxury, and diversity in programming.

The not-for-profit Memorial Park Society and dedicated volunteers continue to manage the facilities at Blue Heron Park for the community. The wonderful outdoor community sports facility features: a running track rugby, slow pitch and all weather soccer fields with professional lighting a forested trail system, and parking lots and other infrastructure such as picnic tables, water and washrooms. In 2007, through partnership and fundraising efforts with the Peninsula Soccer Association, a major field upgrade project was completed. The 2 soccer fields now feature drainage irrigation and the latest turf technology providing the best grass fields in the region. Community, provincial, national and international teams come to tournaments at this first-class sports facility. We acknowledge the District of North Saanich for the permissive exemption from property taxation for Blue Heron Park.
